This is a really interesting article on what works to foster creativity.
At a prior workplace I remember having my ideas cut down and thinking, "this is not what Brainstorming is supposed to be like." I think the concept of brainstorming is great, but groups of people have too much of a tendency to do things the way they have always been done and shoot down new ideas.
It takes two things to make creative change - the idea and the leadership to believe in it.
